May 2025 – LAC LEGAL had the honor of having its partner Javier Mitre Bethancourt participate as a representative of Panama in the III Ibero-American Congress on Tax Criminal Law , held on May 21 and 22 at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana , in Bogotá, Colombia.
This congress brought together leading figures in tax criminal law from countries such as Spain, Argentina, Mexico, Chile, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Colombia, and Panama , and established itself as a forum for in-depth analysis of the legal frameworks and challenges of tax compliance in the region.
During the event, attorney Mitre was part of the international panel and co -authored the collective work presented, focusing his contributions on tax crime prevention strategies and comparative regulatory development in Latin America.
